Wednesday 4th March

On this day, we had recieved feedback from Rebecca, whereby she said to edit our film by cutting down scenes and slowing down a few shots as well for effect as it would create emphasis on the mood and tone of our work and engage our audience.
From the feedback we've made a few of Mels scenes, such as the one at the end where he walks off, in slow motion. We have also cut out scenes between the characters handshaking as the space between one character and another was too long and made it look unrealistic.
We enjoyed editing this part of the film as it clearly showed how much better the work had looked afterwards.

Blogging Health Check 3

Hi
You have a respectable number of blogs, good work. Some could be more detailed - For your last few blogs, please try and get up a detailed account of your editing. What have you learnt from the process of editing? What new skills have you developed? What specific things have you learnt about the use of filters or different editing techniques?
Please add some posts on these issues with screenshots.

Thanks

Dan

Contribution

In the editing lessons over the past couple of weeks our group have all contributed in many ways in getting our work to the standard it is today. My contribution has been through editing as I have created and added different title sequences which had an adapted style to match the youth drama. This included the colour of black and white which really went well with our opening scene. I managed to also to film the first draft of our opening scenes such as characters and the scenary. We used most of the scenary in our film which was used to set the mood and tone of the film. Including this I have also edited parts of the film such as shortening a few clips in order to keep within our given time limit of our film, with this I have also edited the music by adding fade ins and fade outs in order to make the action swift.

Production Diary - Wednesday 4th March 2015

In todays lesson we finalised our title sequence. My contribution to the editing today was that I helped add new credits (Revolver Entertainment and more), suggested to move them into an appropriate position on the screen so that they're not on the actors face and to keep the music to a minimum of 2 different tracks which are the instrumental for 'Ain't on nuttin' and our own music track that we produced together on Garageband. We decided to use two tracks as they show the transition from our main character playing football to being in a life of gangs and crime.

Below are some pictures of an improvement made with the titles.

Feedback from Classmates

Feedback from our class member, Eric, consisted of positive and negative criticism that we used to improve our sequence, He really liked our choice of music as he said it really "suited the youth drama genre".
He had also given us feedback on what we could improve on. These were things like moving the titles from being over the faces of the characters.

Blogging health check 3

59 posts at final health check.  A great improvement here Shanaz, which is great.  Still a bit to do to get into Level 4 (A grade) which you are capable of if you can find the time to do the following this week:
- post your own individual posts on Wednesday and Friday where you say what you've contributed to the editing in the lesson along with some screen shots of what you are talking about.  Just need to see a little bit more of your own individual contribution.  But great work.

GRIND Website

For our website we decided to use the font 'STENCIL' for most of our titles and sub titles as it was bold and the design suited the sub genre of youth drama as it was urban, hard and dark.

We have pages dedicated to information about the storyline, music, cast and crew (director, actors, etc) and institutions involved in the development of the film.

We have also included at least two positive reviews on the 'About' page.

Below are some screen shots of some of our pages from our website.
