Sub-genre conventions - Blogging task 13

When analysing codes and conventions of any film, we can break it up into the micro and macro elements. We can say that:

Semantic: the way films look = MICRO
Syntactic: the stories the films tell = MACRO

In Teen Films the most common plot is the coming of age. How this is told will depend on the sub genre but is likely to focus on any or all of the following aspects as a way of represensting the foming of age:
- Youthfulness of central characters
- Conflict with relationships
- Conflict with older generation
- Management of adolescence by families, schools, law, etc
- Romance
- Sexuality or sexually active
