Evaluation Question 5 FINISHED




TITLE SEQUENCES:

One way we attracted and addressed our audience was through our opening title sequences this stood out for the audience as it included a gritty shadow look which reinforced our urban youth drama look as it was dark and suited alongside the film. This lead to the audience really being attracted to the film as not only was our film a youth drama which was suitable for the age range of our audience but it the titles also helped reflect back on the film. We had title sequences which were bold and stood out.

MISE EN SCENE:

We had costumes which stood out and was appealing as it followed the latest trend in fashion of youths. Moreover, the setting of our film was really unique and made the characters stand out, this also reflected back on "gang culture" of estate blocks and "hood" lifestyle. We also had props such as footballs which really engaged our audience since many youths love sports. Having all this in mind we were able to engage, attract, and address the audience so they can understand more and more of our storyline. We were successfully able to do this since the film had real personal qualitites to some of our audience.

ACTORS:

We had many different characters involved in the making of our film and one thing really helped attract the audience was the unity between every character in our film sticking up for each other and being in a group. This is because many youths liked to be in groups, have fun, this really was enjoyed by our audience.

STORYLINE:

The storyline was a real attraction point for the audience as many realated to similar scenarios, if not the audience then got to see a chance of the different types of youth going through hardships and really had caught thier attention. The storyline has both a love and passion for a football following career and gang related scenes therefore appealing to the target audience that can relate to either of these or just enjoy watching youth change.

SOUND:

Both soundtracks were enjoyed by the audience, one of which we created by our group using garageband this is because it reflected the gritty youth drama and had a urban theme to it. The other soundtrack was a remake of popular song which really went well with our scenes and caught the audiences attention and had addressed them of not looking any interest and was able to keep the audience entitled.

FILM-NAME:

The name of the film was "GRIND" and reflected our storyline and questioned the audience of what the film was going to be about. This helped attratced the audience into the film and was also a way the audience can understand the storyline that the charcter is working both ways in order to get money/become successful.

PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION

Our production and distribution companies were independent and had a low budget. But having understood similar movies such as kidulthood, anuvahood. Our target audience see this they'll have expectations as it was represented by revolver entertainment about the type of film we're producing. This was another attraction point and had attracted the audience.

FEEDBACK:

Our feedback was really important and was a real way of making the film of what it is today, we had so much feedback which was a goodthing as by changing some of the scenes and adding alot more scenes helped increase the understanding of the film and had made ways of making our film look much more presentable and "on point". This helped appeal more to the audience now that we have worked from our feedback.

AUDIENCE REACH:

We have screened our film through cinema only exclusive to the college students which was great as our main target aim was to the youth. We have also presented a final film on youtube and vimeo so we can attact more and more of our target audience this really was a good way of presenting our film
 in order to get more views and likes, and also attract youths who use social media day in day out.

WIDER AUDIENCE:

Our storyline attracted a small audience that we didnt anticipate, who were adults both male and female of the college who were really intrigued by our title sequences, storyline, concept, and setting and really enjoyed what we offered them. This goes to show our film was really popular and was enjoyed by not only the target market but also a wider range of audiences.
